There’s always something peaceful about watching nature change. I love the cool Fall weather and observing the various colors of leaves falling.
I love all the Oakes…pin oaks, red oaks and white oaks. I have several oaks in my yard and every year I rake and burn their fallen leaves. It gives me a feeling of taking care of my beloved trees.
Even though, they change every year, they are steady and strong. They are always there for me, providing shade from the scorching hot sun and providing me falling limbs for starting my fires. I even mulch my garden with the leaves.
Since we’re about to celebrate Thanksgiving here in America I thought I would give a shout-out to the beautiful Oak trees and express what they mean to me. I’m appreciative of Oakes that have withstood the storms of time for 100 years or more.
But the most important thing I’m grateful for is my freedom. Every day I make choices to do what I want with my life and I realize it’s up to me to choose my best life.
After analyzing all my choices, I’ve narrowed it all down to the simple things in life…like traveling in my gray camper van and admiring the landscape. It’s all so easy to take the earth and it’s beauty for granted, but there is lots to do and enjoy if you make a focused effort.
While growing up in the 50’s and 60’s era, I long for a slower pace of life such as I experienced way back when. There truly is an art to living. Slowing down and keeping up is a slippery slope.
It appears technology is changing rapidly since 2019 and I find myself spending too much time learning new technology and spending more money.
I’m learning to live with less and limiting my productivity apps. I’d like to spend more time reading a paperback book, gardening and watching the sunset everyday.
Traveling in my camper van helps me achieve a slower pace of life. While I prefer camping in State Parks, I can read and write my articles and still enjoy nature and work on my bucket list.
I’m looking forward to this year’s RTR (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous)being held in Quartzsite, Arizona starting on Jan. 7, 2023. I plan to attend the women’s RTR for 3 days and then attend the mixed group for 3 days.
This will be my first year to attend the RTR and I look forward to meeting new people and taking part in the various activities.
Here is a short video that gives an overview of the event. It is totally free for all.
While enjoying the activities at the RTR 2023, I will be teaching remotely in New Mexico. I feel confident I will have a good internet signal. The weather is usually warm, sunny and in the 70’s in January.
I will write a review of the RTR 2023 after I go. I’m looking forward to meeting some like-minded people.
Be happy and be free.
