Homeless in Dallas
Dallas is tired of dealing with the homeless, so they are going to help the needy now.
Dallas is addressing the issue of homelessness within its community.
Reports from 2024 indicate that housing a homeless person in the Dallas area can cost between $33,000 and $100,000. With some ingenuity, a more cost-effective solution might be achievable.
Why not purchase one of Elon Musk's fully equipped tiny houses for $10,000 and establish a village? It seems that Musk's compact homes will soon populate homeless camps across the US. In a way, this could be seen as a positive development.
To qualify for a small apartment, one must be homeless for at least a year and be a resident of Texas. The reason for the one-year waiting period is unclear, but it is part of the regulations.
The Christmas Season is Quickly Approaching.
There was a period in time when Americans were celebrated for their kindness towards the less fortunate, especially around the Christmas season. Schools would issue vouchers to children from low-income families, allowing them to partake in the joy of Christmas. Vouchers were often given to Walmart.
It is disheartening to witness the crowds of homelessness while many of us celebrate the holidays in warmth and comfort. How can Americans sit back and watch this problem continue to grow and not do much to eliminate this problem?
Homelessness could happen to anyone, especially those burdened with hefty monthly mortgage payments. With hopes that inflation will decrease soon, we may all be able to manage our living costs more effectively. I wish the government would step in and put a ceiling on rents.
Homelessness impacts everyone.
Certainly, environmental issues are a concern. No one appreciates the sight of litter strewn across cities and communities. As for the penalties for littering, they vary, but significant efforts are made to address this issue. Not too long ago, a fine of $200 was charged for littering the landscape. That meant throwing out beer cans or paper sacks could cost you a hefty fine.
We need to keep American Beautiful. Wouldn’t you agree?
The decision to give money to individuals asking for help on the street is a personal one and varies from person to person.
Sometimes I do. Or sometimes, I give water or food. It depends on the situation.
Giving from the heart is always rewarding. Blessing come your way when you least expect it. But placing these people in shelter or homes is the answer. We need to help them find housing.
I write on Substack to highlight this issue, with the hope that more communities, similar to Dallas, will take action to assist these individuals.
I advocate living the van life, but not everyone has the means to own a van.
If every one of us helped just one homeless individual or family to find food and shelter, our country could restore its values. "Make America Great Again" is a phrase I often hear. However, to truly achieve greatness, we must ensure that everyone has a home and no one is forced to sleep on the streets.
Feel free to share your views on the issue of homelessness in America.

Sadly, where I live, city council just voted a similar strategy down last night...
