80-Year-Old Hannah Living the Happy Nomad Life
Hannah bought a used handicapped van and refurnished it to make it her happy home.
I came across a YouTube video yesterday about an 80-year-old woman named Hannah who embraces Van Life.
Hannah, from New Mexico, is passionate about creating art as she lives full-time in her van. She embarked on this adventure at the age of 75 and has cherished every moment since.
In addition to producing artwork, which she sells to supplement her modest social security income, Hannah loves her travels. Traveling solo across the Western United States doesn't intimidate or isolate her. Remarkably, she has not experienced any negative encounters in the five years she's been living in her van.
Hannah Stresses That She Leads a Contented Life
Hannah emphasizes that she is living a fulfilling life at the age of 80 and if she can do it, then anyone can.
I disagree with her viewpoint. Not everyone possesses the "courage to venture onto the open road and face the challenges of the unknown." True, unexpected events can occur, but they can happen anywhere, at any place, even close to your home.
However, it is possible to embrace this lifestyle if you choose to. Even with manageable health issues, you might find that changing your surroundings can benefit you both emotionally and physically.
Even if you choose to camp just twenty miles from home to stay within reach of your medical team for peace of mind, it's a decision that should come after considering all the advantages and disadvantages of your options.
Perhaps you don't wish to live on the road full-time but enjoy occasional travel. That's a healthy choice... and yes, I believe you can do it.
If you're like many women today facing eviction due to rising rent costs, using your vehicle or a camper as a temporary home while seeking resources during a crisis can be a starting point. It might be wise to start preparing in advance.
Hannah finds joy and fulfillment in creating her artwork, embracing the present moment with comfort. She shares her creations on Instagram.
Living in her van, Hannah has written a novel titled "Flipping My Left Wing," available for purchase on Amazon.
Regardless of whether you reside in a traditional home, a camper van, or even your car, maintaining both your physical and mental health is crucial. Engaging in activities like reading, writing, listening to podcasts, being active on social media, cooking, crocheting, cultivating a social life, and attending to personal needs is extremely important.
Indeed, change is the one thing we can all rely on.
Kindly,
Carol
